League Rules: Team rosters consist of no more than ten (10) players per team. No additions are made once the league has started unless a player is injured and considered out for the rest of the season, and not the last two (2) weeks of the regular season. Logistics: Uniforms must be worn to each game, no excuses. No jewelry worn during game play.
1.08 Each team manager/coach is urged to carry these rules and regulations to each game in case of a violation by an official and/or team. A copy of the rules must be presented to the staff, the opposing teams and the official immediately after the alleged violation. The violation must be corrected before the game may continue.
If 2 teammates contact the ball simultaneously, it counts as 1 contact, and any player may play the ball. ILLEGAL PLAY: Players are not permitted to lift, hold, or throw the ball. The ball may not be contacted with an open-underhanded motion. Judgement calls are at the discretion of the referee – NO REBUTTALS.
Outdoor Volleyball Rules. Each team consists of no more than 6 players on the court at one time (maximum of 4 of each gender). If there is only 1 girl there can only be 3 guys on the court at one time and vice versa. The minimum # of players to be an official game is 3. One guy and one girl. If there are only 3 players, 2 of the players must be of one gender.
Number Of Players. In general, teams must have at least 6 players to start the match, and at least 6 eligible players (substitution players, or “subs”) to play the match. There are 6 players on court for each team during the match. In FIVB rules, a team may have up to 14 players in total.
No position rotation of players is required in 4×4 formats but you must rotate servers and keep the same serve order. 6×6 must also rotate positions and be aware of overlapping rules. Teams may not attack a serve. The service line is the back end line on both sides of the court and runs the length of the end line.
6’s Sand Volleyball League Rules. Team Requirements. 6 players on the court, 3 male, and 3 female. If the team is short players there has to be at least 2 females on the court.
