Baerum Basket Bekkestua (BLNO) signed 25-year old American (has also New Zealander passport) power forward Shane Temara (205cm-95, college: N.Texas) for upcoming 2021-22 season. Temara played last summer at Jets in New Zealand NBL league. In 11 games he had very impressive stats: 15.7ppg, 9.3rpg (#4 in the league) and 1.9apg.
The team, under newly appointed head coach Pero Cameron, were due to get together for a camp over Labour Weekend, followed by games against the Sky Sport New Zealand Breakers. However, due to Alert Levels in Auckland, this will no longer go ahead. The team will convene early in 2022, before the campaign to qualify for FIBA World Cup 2023 begins.
